Oshawa Power discovered a billing system configuration error which resulted in overbilling our customers more than the OEB-approved fixed charges.
Upon learning of the error, Oshawa Power immediately fixed the billing system configuration. We put new controls and processes in place to ensure this error doesn’t happen again to serve you better.
We worked with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), the energy sector regulatory board, to determine the appropriate compensation repayment and penalties for our affected customers. We apologize for any inconvenience and, in response, have issued a one-time on-bill credit per the AVC that can be accessed here.
